I have changed the battery, fuel pump on my gmc and it still will not operate properly, sometimes I am able to drive it and sometimes it just wont start....

Jimmy has been sitting...

My Jimmy failed its emissions test early last year, after replacing the fuel injector system. I parked it and bought a new rig. Someone is interested in buying it a year and a half later, so I need to get it running. After I jump the battery, what else should I do so I don't do any damage to the engine? Thanks for help!!...
